Currently the residence of the ambassador from the Republic of South Africa, this home, located in the upper northwest neighborhood of Spring Valley was modeled after a French Eclectic styled home commissioned by the Guggenheim family. Efforts were taken to select and integrate materials to fit into the neighborhood which features limestone veneer from Montana, Ludowici clay roof tiles, cementitious stucco on block and custom doors and windows with the hope of replicating an Old World feel. The interior finishes were specified by Kelly Knebel and were designed to be elegant without being too formal. GTM Architects designed the home.
